Buy this beautiful song to benefit Sandy Hook Promise

Hey everybody, I know it's a day after the anniversary but I still wanted to share this song with you all. My sister wrote this beautiful song hoping to spread the message and put an end to gun violence. Please take time to listen and if you buy the song 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Sandy Hook Promise group. Share with your friends, family, and coworkers to help out and make a change. Let her voice be heard. Thanks!

Phoenix Fashion Week

This was my favorite fashion show that I ever have done in my modeling career. I arrived late afternoon and then the show started around 7pm. During that time I spent all of it in either hair or makeup. It was an extremely long time sitting around getting my hair done or my makeup done, or both at the same time!

It's funny, because after those long hours all of the models feel really tired and we just want the show to get started. We're all waiting around, knowing we'll get our energy back once the craziness begins. Finally, we get our instructions about our facial expressions on the runway and how we should walk, and we're headed off to backstage.

We entered into the dark curtained off room behind the stage toting our rolling suitcases behind us filled with all of our "essential" shoes for the runway. Here, the craziness begins.

First, you have to find your comp card hanging on a certain group of outfits. It can be pretty nerve-wracking when you can't find your name and card at first. That's happened a few times! Finally, I find my card and quickly open up my suitcase and set out my shoes. My first look (all looks were Fashion by Robert Black) was a red striped shirt underneath the coolest silver blazer with black leggings. I quickly slipped it on and asked what shoes I should wear. Just like I thought, my red heels went perf with this outfit. Oh, I forgot to mention, unless you are walking for Gucci, Prada, or something huge like that, models almost always wear their own shoes on the runway. Who knew?

Then the yelling starts. Frazzled assistants start running around yelling at the models to hurry up because the show is gonna start soon. You can hear the music thumping outside on the runway and the din of people chatting, waiting for the show. I slip the purse that goes with my outfit over my shoulder and listen for my name in the lineup. My nerves start to kick in like always, but I', excited.

The models all line up behind the small set of stairs leading up to the runway. You can see the bright white light shining through the small opening behind the curtain. There is a lady there with a headset who tells the models when to go. I'm about 6th to go and I can hear them introducing the fashion line. Finally, the lady pushes the first model to go out on the runway and the show begins!!

My heart pounds as I wait for the lady to give me a little push on my back to signal for me to go out. She tells me to go slowly because we need to save some time. The other models aren't changing enough. Its extremely chaotic backstage as assistants are freaking out about having the runway empty if no models are ready. Finally, its my turn to step out onto the runway.

It was beautiful. This runway was the nicest one I have ever been on. The music was an fun rockabilly style to match the vintage western clothes that we were modeling. I walked slow and smooth out onto the runway. It just makes you feel so special and amazing. All eyes are on you. There are bright lights and colored lights shining down on you and its just such a magical feeling. I stop at the end of the runway in front of the huge group of photographers for a few seconds. Strike a pose, and turn. Then I'm on my way back, wishing it wasn't over so soon!

Luckily I have another look, so I get to go back out. Backstage is TOTALLY different than onstage. What you audience members don't see or hear is the chaos and freaking out. It's actually kind of funny. Onstage we all look so calm and collected, but backstage is this amazing craziness.

I run back to my spot and quickly change into this amazing, long coat that has this gold embroidery. Someone helps zip up a teal puffy skirt to go underneath. The button on the coat keeps coming undone but I can't even get it before an assistant yells at me to line up. She's freaking out because there is only about 2 girls ready. There was only one girl on the runway at the moment. I throw on black heels (can't go wrong with those) as Robert Black comes to help me with the button and thanks me for being so quick. I slip on my sunglasses as the accessory and am hurried up on stage, hoping the button won't come undone.

Immediately when I walk out the audience "oohs" and "ahhs". It's such an amazing feeling to get that response. The coat truly was fantastic though. It's embroidery and color was very striking. People snapped a ton of pictures and I felt on top of the world.

Luckily I finished without the button coming undone. I finished and was so excited that it went well and I didn't miss my turn. It's so exciting and although its crazy and chaotic, I love it. It's so fun!

Here is a pic of me on the runway and the link to the entire runway video below.

AZ Foothills Best of Our Valley Show

Thursday night I went to the MAYA Night Club along with other JANI Models to do a fashion show for Joy Li and My Sister's Closet. It was a great, exciting night!

I went to rehearsal around 3pm and did a few runway walks on the red carpet. You'll see in pictures later that the runway was pretty cool! After that, I hurried over to the agency to get my makeup done. The agency was extremely crowded with hair and makeup artists and models everywhere! I started getting my hair curled  and towards the end I was getting my makeup done at the same time. Overall, it probably took about an hour and a half! Ahh! I hate sitting for that long. My hair was super curled and volumized and my makeup super bronzy (which they wanted). I looked kinda strange actually...but I was ready!

I got a ride to the show with one of the other models who was super nice! There were a lot of new models who were signed when I was in Korea. Anyway, this model was super nice and we had a good time chatting and laughing about how we couldn't find anywhere to park.

Finally we got to the club and I felt awesome. There was music playing and it was still evening time, so not many people had arrived. Technically  the event hadn't even started yet. I got to my rack of clothes and had 3 different "looks" or outfits. They were cute, but I knew it would be a fast change. At first, I was a little concerned about the shoes I had to wear; heel less shoes. Take a look at this picture:

These shoes were exactly the same except for the peep toe! Of course I was intimidated, but somehow they were actually pretty easy to walk in! You'd think you'd immediately fall back when wearing them, but the eyes can be deceiving! We tried on all of our looks and had them approved by the stylist. It was getting darker, and as we changed back into our first outfit the crazy chaos began.

Backstage in a runway show is VERY chaotic, but fun. Everyone is pretty tense, the stylists are running around making last minute changes, and the makeup artists are giving everyone a little more gloss on their lips. I was excited, but also nervous about the fact that in a few moments it would be go-go-go for the next 15 minutes. I got on my first outfit, and checked the giant board of the models for the order, I was 2nd. We waited behind the curtain, excited but also feeling those subtle hints of nerves as we waited for the assistant to give us the "You're-on" thumbs up. Finally, one of my fav songs by Icona Pop came on and I was so ready! One model was ahead of me, but when I got on that runway it was amazing! We had to go down a ramp in the beginning, but that part was in the dark so the viewers couldn't really see us. My agent was so worried one of us would fall, so she told us to hold onto the railing. Finally, we turned the corner and walked on to the red carpet. We took another turn into the bright lights and across the center of the pool on a small deck. It was a pretty cool runway. The lights were bright and there were the photographers at the end snapping away. I made sure to hold my poses long enough to allow the photographers to get some good shots like I was instructed, and then turned around to finish my walk.

Once I got back up that ramp it was scrambling non stop. I had two girls who were supposed to "assist" me with changing but they were really just in the way! They took way too long to figure out the bracelet went on, or realize they could buckle my shoes while I put on my dress! It was ridiculous. The moment I finished dressing I literally didn't stop and had to walk right out of that curtain and back onto the runway. Again I strutted but to the music of Rihanna. It all happens so quickly. You feel so powerful, and you almost don't want to leave because you just feel so amazing! It's so hard to describe. Luckily the last look had some time in between for me to change.

Finally, the My Sister's Closet look came around and the clothes were quite quirky and odd. One of my shoes was tighter than the other, obviously different sizes but the show must go on! I gave it my all for the last walk and finally came back to the curtain without having to rush.

I wish there was a finale walk to close the show, but there wasn't. We all changed back into our clothes saying our goodbyes and thank-yous and commenting how short that seemed for so much preparation! Throughout the evening and night I got to talk to the new models and all of them were really nice and not stuck up at all. The girls are all friendly and supportive of one another.

Thanks for reading!
Me on the runway. Wasn't it awesome how it was in the middle of the pool??

I'm really going to miss Korea

As you might know, I will be leaving Korea soon to return home. I'm so excited to get home and see my family and friends and have the food I missed! :) But I really love South Korea. When I first got here, I just thought I would get through the 3 months as quickly as I could and then get back home to my family. Sure, the first month I thought this was going to last FOREVER and I would be miserable here. But I started exploring and shopping and finding things that I loved about Korea. It became my home and has been for 3 months. There are so many things that I love about Korea now that it makes me so sad that I'm leaving. I keep telling myself that I will probably come back, but I still feel really upset. I feel like this might be the last time I'm here. Modeling here has given me fun experiences, awkward ones, crazy ones, annoying ones, but they were all amazing and definitely made me a more confident person. I think Korea was really good for me and I will get back home a slightly different person, in a good way.

I just love the city too. Back home I don't live in a big city, so if I want a coffee I need to drive a few minutes to get to a coffee shop, and I don't even have my license yet!! So that means I have to ask my mom or dad if I ever want to go anywhere. Meh. But in Korea, I'm like, "Hmm I could go for a latte right now....Oh I could walk 1 minute down the street and grab one!" It's so nice that everything is right there!!! I can shop for clothes or food just by walking. I never really thought I was a city girl, but I do really like it. It's interesting though, whenever I am in American cities I feel unsafe, even when I am with my family. But here in Korea, I am alone and feel perfectly fine. Everyone I have met is really nice, and no one has made me uncomfortable. So I like Seoul, but maybe not a huge American city like New York...haha.

I definitely want to come back someday. Whether it is with my family, or modeling again, I want to come back to Seoul. I really love it. I love the people, the culture, some of the food ;) and the experiences I've had here. I've seen gorgeous historical sites and met some amazing people, and I will never forget this trip.

I <3 Korea! But I guess it is time to head home now.

A Fun Shoot!

A few weeks ago I had a really fun photoshoot that was super colorful and upbeat for D-Pulse's Spring and Summer collection. It was a shoot where they told me to just be cute and make all different kinds of emotions. I love the shoots where you can do anything, even poses you might think are awkward or weird. The best is when the photographer is kind and supportive. He was really nice and encouraging, shouting, "Great! Yes! Perfect!" It makes it fun for the model and makes me feel good. Here are some of the pictures below, sorry for the blurriness, they are pictures of pictures.

The other model, Paul, was very nice and also from the U.S. Yay! Another American. Super nice and hilarious! That was probably one of my favorite shoots. Even though it was a long full day, the energy in the room kept me happy and upbeat! A fun day!
