Do you live in Arizona? Do you want to be a model?

Hey girls or guys reading my blog, if you are in Arizona and want to model, check this out!
Come to the Scottsdale Quarter this Saturday anytime from 12-2pm to meet with JANI scouts!
Tips:
  • Wear little to no makeup (Foundation and a little mascara will be just fine!)
  • Wear simple clothing (Black tank top or any solid colored top) that shows off your body
  • Be confident, smile and show that you are interested!
  • If you have any test shots that could be good to bring too!
Check out http://www.janimodeling.com/ for height requirements and more information. Even if you don't think you are tall enough, come see what the scouts think! You never know if you don't try! :)

AZ Foothills Best of Our Valley Show

Thursday night I went to the MAYA Night Club along with other JANI Models to do a fashion show for Joy Li and My Sister's Closet. It was a great, exciting night!

I went to rehearsal around 3pm and did a few runway walks on the red carpet. You'll see in pictures later that the runway was pretty cool! After that, I hurried over to the agency to get my makeup done. The agency was extremely crowded with hair and makeup artists and models everywhere! I started getting my hair curled  and towards the end I was getting my makeup done at the same time. Overall, it probably took about an hour and a half! Ahh! I hate sitting for that long. My hair was super curled and volumized and my makeup super bronzy (which they wanted). I looked kinda strange actually...but I was ready!

I got a ride to the show with one of the other models who was super nice! There were a lot of new models who were signed when I was in Korea. Anyway, this model was super nice and we had a good time chatting and laughing about how we couldn't find anywhere to park.

Finally we got to the club and I felt awesome. There was music playing and it was still evening time, so not many people had arrived. Technically  the event hadn't even started yet. I got to my rack of clothes and had 3 different "looks" or outfits. They were cute, but I knew it would be a fast change. At first, I was a little concerned about the shoes I had to wear; heel less shoes. Take a look at this picture:

These shoes were exactly the same except for the peep toe! Of course I was intimidated, but somehow they were actually pretty easy to walk in! You'd think you'd immediately fall back when wearing them, but the eyes can be deceiving! We tried on all of our looks and had them approved by the stylist. It was getting darker, and as we changed back into our first outfit the crazy chaos began.

Backstage in a runway show is VERY chaotic, but fun. Everyone is pretty tense, the stylists are running around making last minute changes, and the makeup artists are giving everyone a little more gloss on their lips. I was excited, but also nervous about the fact that in a few moments it would be go-go-go for the next 15 minutes. I got on my first outfit, and checked the giant board of the models for the order, I was 2nd. We waited behind the curtain, excited but also feeling those subtle hints of nerves as we waited for the assistant to give us the "You're-on" thumbs up. Finally, one of my fav songs by Icona Pop came on and I was so ready! One model was ahead of me, but when I got on that runway it was amazing! We had to go down a ramp in the beginning, but that part was in the dark so the viewers couldn't really see us. My agent was so worried one of us would fall, so she told us to hold onto the railing. Finally, we turned the corner and walked on to the red carpet. We took another turn into the bright lights and across the center of the pool on a small deck. It was a pretty cool runway. The lights were bright and there were the photographers at the end snapping away. I made sure to hold my poses long enough to allow the photographers to get some good shots like I was instructed, and then turned around to finish my walk.

Once I got back up that ramp it was scrambling non stop. I had two girls who were supposed to "assist" me with changing but they were really just in the way! They took way too long to figure out the bracelet went on, or realize they could buckle my shoes while I put on my dress! It was ridiculous. The moment I finished dressing I literally didn't stop and had to walk right out of that curtain and back onto the runway. Again I strutted but to the music of Rihanna. It all happens so quickly. You feel so powerful, and you almost don't want to leave because you just feel so amazing! It's so hard to describe. Luckily the last look had some time in between for me to change.

Finally, the My Sister's Closet look came around and the clothes were quite quirky and odd. One of my shoes was tighter than the other, obviously different sizes but the show must go on! I gave it my all for the last walk and finally came back to the curtain without having to rush.

I wish there was a finale walk to close the show, but there wasn't. We all changed back into our clothes saying our goodbyes and thank-yous and commenting how short that seemed for so much preparation! Throughout the evening and night I got to talk to the new models and all of them were really nice and not stuck up at all. The girls are all friendly and supportive of one another.

Thanks for reading!
Me on the runway. Wasn't it awesome how it was in the middle of the pool??
